PINDAYA TEA FACTORY
OUR FAMILY TEA
There are no two ways about it, we'd be totally lost without these farmers, and there'd certainly be no tea!
When we were just starting out, the farmers accommodated us and shared their fascinating expertise about Shan tea, something they had grown up alongside their entire lives.
Over many months we built a relationship with the small-holder farmers, who then agreed to supply the Lost Tea Company with their delicious high quality tea, excited at the prospect that the wider world could experience their products.
Most of the 250+ small farms we work with have been owned, lived and worked on by the same family for many years, handed down from generation to generation. This leads to a strong sense of pride in the community about the tea leaves the farm and family produces.
The following are a selection of the fantastic people we work with:
The factory in Pindaya is home to some of the brightest young tea brains in Pindaya. Led by the brilliant Lin Pyae, there's not much this TEAm can't do!
A LA
CHAUNG
Set just over the mountainous hills above Pindaya, this beautiful little village is famed for it's fresh leaf. It was the first place we visited in 2016 and we have never looked back!
ZAW GYI
FACTORY
This little family run factory, set beside the lovely Zaw Gyi river has become famous for it's Shwe (gold) tea which is certainly worth it's weight in, well gold!
MAE NAE
TAUNG
The village of Mae Nae Taung is nestled at the base of Sa Ya Gyi, the highest peak in Southern Shan. This picturesque place is home to one of the kindest families (and not to mention best cook!) we know
